I have 2010 Pajero and borrow my brother's trailer fitted with LED lights. A couple of weeks ago our sons borrowed unit and forgot to plug trailer in and dragged it on the the road wrecking it!!!! I replaced the 7 pin plug and now have a problem. With the Hazard and parking lights only the centre LED of each unit works and the parking lights slightly flash with the indicator lights. So what have I done wrong before I rip all the tape off and start again.

All the above plus. Some led only caravans need an adaptor with resistors inside on the plug. This is for the confoundent computers inside not knowing the low volt drop across a led. Not sur of the value but I have it for my ranger and jayco van.
Worth a thought.

I am pretty confident it worked correctly on the Pajero until the kids borrowed it and I supposedly fixed it!!!!!! Earthing seems to be the first option to consider so out I go to fix it. Wreck my lovely work!!!!!!!!!!

Ok. found out where I stuffed up. I had the white and the red back to front. Also I had wired it as a 7 pin and I am not sure how my brother terminated the spare wire at the back, could have been accidentally earthing. Obviously my brain could not function that day!!!!!!!!!!
All go now, geez I hate making such simple mistakes.

Well done indeed ...
I too have made all the obvious & not so obvious mistakes ... so I have developed the habit of
First checking & rechecking my circuit &/or wiring diagrams before starting.
Checking & then rechecking all of my wiring.
Checking & rechecking for all terminations ... tight if screwed (wobble test) - quality of soldering - Inadvertent Shorts due to errant strands of wire.
One last check of all of the above before powering up & then wobble test once again.

Wrap or cover up the connectors
& wobble check once again
I almost always find at least one error ...
