I travelled down the Clyde Mountain into Batemans Bay last Thursday and reckon they have done heaps of good work on the Kings. I am currently in Milton just a tad north of BB.
Enjoy the descend.

Yeah its much easier than Brown mountain further south, - or is it? Have never decided which was the steepest.
We are so glad to have found the road through Nerriga and Tarago from Nowra to Canberra.

That must be the way Navlady was going to take me to Milton Gerty. I decided to go Clyde cos I wasn't sure on the one you mention.

Some say that the rule is you go down the mountain in the same gear you would need to go up it. Anyway, use a real low gear and crawl down. Don't worry if you hold up others - they will eventually get by. You need to stay safe!
We came down the mountain in the bus, last year. Slowly! Just love the exhaust brake.

Hi Peter and Diane,
We found the easiest trip down to the coast is the Mt Imlay road from Bombala (lovely CP on the river at Bombala). It is not too steep at all. Trouble is you will end up just a bit south of Eden. so you would have to backtrack. Lovely spots on the way back if you have the time.
We have also used the Clyde Mt road, a bit scary but as everyone says, just put it in low gear and don't look at the queue in your rear vision mirror.
South Coast is a beautiful area so enjoy the trip.
Did you stay at the Showground at Kendall? We really liked that place and will go again someday.

The trip over the Clyde mountain proves a little bit of research goes a long way-- Been at the riverbreeze CP in Moruya for 3 days now, very nice park. A local mate showed me the camping site inside the National Park at Congo, no dogs,, but right on a crystal clear creek about 100m from the ocean. Definitely worth the visit
This our outlook at riverbreeze--

Not sure how you can put up with that crowd Pedro

I'll be heading UP the Clyde in a few days, just to be different.
