Well I had to make the phone call last week to our van dealer and tell him to put our brand new custom made Roadstar on the market. After a serious illness and an extended stay in hospitle Our busines has suffered irreparably and we can no longer support our dream of hitting the wallaby. It may be two or three years before we are in a position to re-look at the big loop. I will still stay on here and keep an eye on you lot as I do enjoy the forum, so enjoy your wandering life whilst you are able. Because it is a fine line that we walk I could not have imagined this in my wildest dreams 6 months ago.
Take care and look after yourself's
Cheers

Hi Ron and Wendy,
I am so sorry about what happened. We have had exactly the same happen to us, we ended up selling our van for a lot less than we owed, and had to take out a personal loan to pay it off. But we haven't stopped dreaming of travelling, we are going to do it from a cheaper home, via car. This way we can still see everything, and we have a permanent home to come back too.
We may be down, but we are not out yet...lol

How sad, Ron and Wendy, and my heart goes out to you. It's like Billeeeeeee often says, we're not guaranteed tomorrow. Hopefully, the opportunity will present itself again in time and you'll be able to follow your dream. Good luck and all the best.

hi mr and mrs hats sorry to hear the news i hope that you find some way to hang on to your van ...with your superannuation policy it could be a possible klaus in it as part of your life insurance that there is also insurance for loss of income if you get sick... it would be worthwhile to check this out and also if you are in financial trouble you are able to access your saved up super all the best ...bluey

Health is always a worry the older we get so we have to try to plan these things as early as possible then all we can do is hope that no unforeseen things come up to stifle our plans.
Hope all is well soon Ron & Wendy and you get on the frog & toad at a later date.

The Hats, my heart goes out to you, i remember the encouragement you gave me when I was on my trial run to WA., I was so thankful to have you there with me, keep onto your dream, I'm a believer that things happen for a reason, at the time we can't see it. You concentrate on your health first, everything else will follow., May your Angels guide you through this and make you stronger to enjoy the unfolding of your dream. - Fran

Sincerely hope things get better for you guys! Don't lose your dream, you will get there one day - stay positive, and take care.
Can understand how you feel we had to face this a few months ago we are still trying to sell our campervan. We have been lucky we have been able to travel for about 16 years so have enjoyed the life but we do so miss it. Unfortunately age and health caught up with us. I still lurk on the forum I know I should post more often but feel a bit out of it at the moment. Good luck with your health and hope that in the future you can make that loop
