I am so impressed with the paintings that some of you clever nomads have done.
As a person who cant paint, I still love to go to Art Galleries even the small ones in some of the country towns.
Bird watching I now enjoy and although I don't have a large knowledge, it is interesting as we travel around Australia I am noticing more and more.
A bird book is on my list for Christmas.

Funny you should say that as you travel you are noticing more and more. We have seen kites all over the place, but it was not until we were told they a) they chase the rodents displaced by fires, and b) can start fires, that we really started noticing them. Today, we passed through an area of bush fire, and saw the kites all circling around above the fire.
(they start fires by picking up smouldering sticks etc, and move them to areas that are not burning, in an effort to find more rodents)
Enjoy the birds, photograph them to identify with your book when you get it, them may be, try to sketch or paint from the photo

Hey there GollyMolly - no such thing as "can't paint" ..... I am the proof! I have trolled through many paintings posted here and there was no way would I have thought I could come up with anything that remotely resembled trees, grass and water, but apparently I did ..... so I was told!!! - those few words set me on the path and I am now half way through my next Aussie landscape. You only know what you can and can't do after you try - and can't is never an option - just means you step back, cool it for a bit, and then start again .... the 3 P's - Patience, Persistence and Perseverance .... and lots of paint!!!!! OK - someone burn the soapbox please!!!! cheers

I have always been a positive person and will try anything, so I have made a decision to give drawing ago. I may have to explain to my family what I am drawing. As I work from the caravan daily, holidays are looming so will do it.
I haven't been into this site, why I don't know.
