Good morning everyone. does anyone know what this is for. it is above our bed on the ceiling. the black round thing is surround sound. the rectangular thing - haven't a clue. thanks Rocket n Strop
Rocket, if that is towards the front end of the van it is most likely a "pressure vent" designed to pressurise the van with clean air to keep dust out.
you could try pushing up on it and it should pop open.
pull down to close it

hi kft, Strop just tried it. and it popped open and opens to the front of the van but has no fly screen or any filter. just open to the air.

You really only need it open when travelling & especially on dusty roads. Unless you drive REALLY slowly the flies can't catch up to get in.

Pressure hatch to help keep dust out. I say "help" because nothing is dustproof, fully.
We had one on our Trakmaster caravan. I was surprised by how effective it was. Used to also tape cardboard over the vents in the door, and cover the AC intake vent and exhaust fan vent for really dusty roads.

I often wondered what that was for too.
Had thought it might be a vent but cannot push it open :/

KathnDave, This is one of those cases of use it or loose it. If it has not been opened for a while then the seal will have stuck. You may damage it if you open it now.
