When I did my big lap during 07 and 08, I had Vic. number plates on my Astina car. I reckon I was pulled up at least one or 2 times a week by the cops, and was never booked. I think they were surprised to see a mature age (old) lady driving with a poodle. I use to call it "pick on a Vic". lol lol. When I swapped to W.A. number plates and changed cars - no one bothered me!!

Mate, you should try touring Australia with ACT number plates!! It seems that everybody blames you for whatever the Federal Government did or didn't do. no matter who is in power.
Having NSW plates is expensive, but people are more friendly.

I got berated by the occupant of a Victorian plated van at Kings Canyon camping area, I hadn't said anything but he noticed my WA plates.
He sarcastically said he couldn't understand why people from WA came over east as they claim it was so good in WA so why didn't they stay there. I just ignored him, but in retrospect should have said something clever like we come over to see what the other states are like then appreciate how good WA is after all and can't wait to get back (all states have their good points, that was just a reply I didn't think of at the time for that smart arse, lol!).
