Because I am type 1 Diabetic, I am first cab off the rank to have another arthroscopy and rotator cuff repair on my left shoulder tomorrow morning. Have to be there at 7.15, and if all goes well I come home Tuesday before lunch. Six weeks in a sling and not allowed to drive is going to be a bit tough as I am just getting into the swing of things since my November 2007 accident.

Hope the operation goes well. Make sure you visit a good physio and follow their advice to the letter - it makes a heap of difference.

Hope it all goes well and as planned. I agree with other posters, I've had orthopedic surgery and following the exercise regime is crucial to a good recovery.

Paul, had the same a op a coupla years ago and physio in FNQ gave me some very basic exercises.
Then had to travel to NSW to look after my crook Mum. Saw local physio who was more switched on and gave me decent and logical exercises to work on. All went well..............until...............went to see my brother who was laying carpet at the local picture theatre. I walked into the theatre where it was dark, slipped, went arse over t#t, and ended up with carpet glue all over me, my sling and everywhere else. Had to walk up the main street to Mum's house, looking a real mess.
Paul, don't go into dark picture theatres until you get the sling off...........

Thanks everyone, yes following the physio people's advice is the only way. I learnt that after my accident. Eril had a bilateral knee replacement 3 years ago and followed the physio orders to a tee and everything worked out great, no more pain. She also had a shoulder done 12 months ago and it went well also.

Good luck Paul, and as others have said, listen to the Physio, and do what they tell you and you will be back on the road in no time.

Surgeon was happy what he found in my shoulder. Horrendous pain though. I needed 3 morphine shots and 2 Endone every four hours.

Hi all. I had a reasonable sleep last night. Did not worry about using the CPAP, and slept soundly. I am still in considerable pain, but that should gradually reduce.
Back in hospital again.. how did that pic end up here?? . Whatever is happening to my body my sugar tests are high and out of control.. Came to the hospital mid morning Thursday to get it all sorted. They took some bloods but because of the weekend I am stuck here!!!!! So, got Eril to bring my laptop so tomorrow I can catch up, and just in case you lot are talking about me.

Surgeon has just been into see me. No infection now and pain is bearable, as well as Diabetes back under control. Surgeon says I can go home and annoy Eril!!! Now to concentrate on CPAP machine...
