I'm with you Bob, you don't have to take the advice given but many people freely give advice to the best of their knowledge. This is because they like to help.
If you think about it, most people I know join forums like this to receive advice for problems. The advice received comes free with no obligation from this forum.
I didn't think there was a problem with free advice but I'm willing to learn.

I was trying to buy an MC4 solar connection last week and had to go to this electrical repair place to get one...
well bugger me... you'd think I was asking for some under the counter prohibited item from the "black" market..
he says,
"what are you going to do with these? or shouldn't I ask?"
what?
then he was trying to show me how they click together and then unclip it again with this little tool thing.. well... he couldn't do it..
he struggled and struggled damaging the connector until he finally got it undone..

I used to run construction sites and found it easy to identify all my electricians.
They were the ones with ear studs and funny haircuts. They listened to Triple J on the radio.

I recently needed a pair to extend the wires on a panel and had to pay the local bloke $12 for them
I have now got THESE in anticipation of next time I need them.
Bit of a price difference

Sorry Blue... I was jet black (but my Dad was a ranger) and Im snowy white now, they called methe silver fox at out Rotary club..

If you Need MC4 connector's I can recommend Low energy Development's.. A Melbourne Based Company, they are on Evil Bay and also have a store front.. Store front is cheaper and I think they will also post it to you..
- as a Recommendation.. The solid Crimp connector's have the better system and seem to have less problem's..
I also happen to have a small amount of them both male and female as back up's...

Bought all of my workshop boys one each last Christmas.
This just about sums up how all of us should be treating free advice.

Ummmm well I'm a Gasfitter and I am happy to give general advice in the interest of safety..:)
I know some dont like the advice I give but thats their problem not mine I just tell it the way it is...
It is their life and they can do whatever they like so long as it isn't around me... I hate explosions
