Put the caravan in for a few jobs almost 2 weeks ago. 5 days they said. Went down late last week, umm, nothing's been done... So I rang today for an estimate of when I'd get it back. Should be done by the end of the week.... Oh heck, I'm leaving late next week, fingers crossed!!! But I really like the company doing the work, wouldn't have used them otherwise.
Storage quote done, cheap. $14 per week, cheaper than drinking ginger beer. Fair amount of furniture sold. Stuff to fit in caravan and car? Seems a lot.
still not sorted a decent tv arial Or got decent stereo fitted, due to cost. An on the road project.
Change of address done, that took hours and hours between online and calls.
now I'm weighing up whether to store or take the chainsaw. It's all the gear that goes with it, ya know, different fuel, oils, sharpeners etc. Cos I'm getting a diesel heater added to the van, so I don't have to follow the sun.
Waiting on some whizz bang funky sunblock material to arrive from USA to make new curtains. No more annoying to try and slide curtains and pelmets in my van. They will be on an easy pole and the ugly pelmets of 20 years ago fashion will go. I'll source the poles once I get the material (Bunnings, cheap, I have a plan) Could not find the colour or design I wanted in sunblock/led block in Oz. And sadly, a really good price from USA, so I'm guilty of going that path.
Ive had all my medical checks, the dog has hers tomorrow, and relevant needles.
What have I forgotten? Nothing, I hope. Let me know if I have

Hey Mary Jane You look like your almost set to go. About your TV. Have you looked up www.kogan.com.au - TVs... I purchased my Van with a fllashy 22" tv with separate JVC player for radio/DVD player/CD player etc.
Went on line to Kogan and purchased an ALL in One (called a combo) 12v/240V 24" TV which has a built in DVD/CD player & PVR.(personal video recorder to record you shows when you not around.) Built in TV Tuner, EPG etc - you can even run your USB of Pictures on it... I also use it as my screen attached to my laptop or desktop with a wireless keyboard & mouse. Works a treat.
Has all the usb plugs you want and was only $149 with 3 year warranty when I purchased it. arrived in 3-4 days. Think they are about $169 now.
PS I just had another look and there are smaller ones cheaper as well. All are HD TV so you cant go wrong.
Cheers
KT

Thanks KT for your reply.
im slowly digesting your response (Takes me a while) and I will def research it tomorrow.
My issue is more with a new tv antenna, I believe (seems mine is an old, no use thing) was not so much the cost of replacing it but what 3 different quotes from 3 different companies wanted to replace and install. They were all up around $800. To supply and replace. So I've done hours of research, and concluded the antenna is most likely the problem, Im confident of tv, cost me way more than yours even 2 years ago though, but I didn't know this forum then,
and then I went to the caravan show, drilled everyone Selling antennas. Then the next day rang more companies selling antennas!!! And I'm confident I can buy a new antenna, fit it to my existing bracket ..... Oh, but not confident on the wiring
Time will tell.
Thanks again though for your thoughts, much appreciated

I have the Kogan TV that KT mentions. But I've only used at home so far. I'm now ready to take off so I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Seems as though you are getting things organised - congratulations and enjoy this great land of ours. Keep well and happy travels.
Glad to see it's all coming together for you. Can you give some detail of the fabric site you found we are having the same problem finding something here.

I sure hope you get that Den sorted sooner than soon MJ. I'm sure things are moving along reasonably quickly for you and hope you are out in the playground playing soon.
You should have a couple of new toys on the Tug by now too.

We did a 6 week shakedown trip before we set off on several years of full time life in van. The chainsaw was one of the first things we discarded at the end of the 6 weeks. Not worth the hassle of all its gear, plus fuel, plus weight and space used.
We had a roof rack on the Landrover, that had a mesh floor to it. If we were wanting a campfire, could always find roadside wood we could throw up there.

It was so good - I ripped out the original VAN TV and use the new.
It even has the mounts for the swing arm stand. Try this link
