Barmera S.A. has just opened it's new SELF CONTAINED R V Park at the Bruce Oval, enterance on Simms St.
Suitable for large rigs as well, Toilet block, water tap on toilet block wall, DUMP point, close to the main street.
Cost is $5 per night, payable to the Visitor Info Centre, at the top of the main street opposite theater. It is just starting off and
the council got a bit off opposition from the local park owner, of course, so please visit if you are in the area.
There is a great butcher in town, bakery, IGA/Foodland, hotel, two bottle shops, Hardware store, 24hr fuel and hot food outlet,
two cafes on the lake front. Local football club for meals and a cold beer, again, overlooking the lake. There are many more
attractions in town and the close surrounds. Berri/Angove cellar door sales just up the road.
It would be nice to see some GN members in town
PM me for more info if you like

A bit of an update to this site, the Riverland Free WiFi does not seem to extend into this oval but is great in town and by the lake good excuse for a coffee at The Lakes Cafe

Just arrived at this great spot and will definitely stay a few days in this lovely town. The lions club have been fighting for a long time to provide this area and encourage tourism to the area...well done for their persistence. Cheers.

Great to see you've made it back over, Colleen. Thanks for the recommendation as well, we were wondering about stopping there as we get further east. Currently in the Ceduna area for a few days.

Sounds like a good place to stop - possibly going that way, but not sure at the moment - take a day at a time!!!

Is the rest stop in Memorial park or Memorial oval as they are both on the same street and Bruce Park does not come up in google maps or poi search engines.
GPS bearings would help those of us that record for future use..
Regards
Brian
