What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Blue skies, sunshine, and the best company a person could wish for.
We ended up with 13 very excited people at The Grange hotel for lunch. A very noisy, loud table of people, whom had not really met each other as a group before except on this wonderful forum. Started of with Beth(Beth 54), and Pam(Travel Bug), so while we sorted out the seating arrangements more jolly happy campers started to arrive.
List of suspects attending said lunch are as follows:-
Rob and Sally (Rosa)
Geoff and Suzie (Bare Rambler)
John and June (Yeoeleven)
Beth (Beth54)
Felicity adn Richard(Fried Rice)
Norm and Deb (Keen Travellers (KT) )
Pam ( Travel Bug)
Sharon (Shekon).
As people arrived it was all very natural to greet each other as long lost friends that we have known for years instead of just meeting. This seems to be the way with GN's. Every body fitted in well and soon the laughter and conversation was flowing. A change in seating arrangements that the hotel had, was done so we could all join in together and we were away.
Drinks and lunch were great, with everybody enjoying their meal. There were many tales told, of adventures past and pending, and the whole conversation was upbeat and very positive. It is wonderful to put faces to names and get to know even more people in this wonderful community.
It was great to catch up with John again and to meet his lovely lady June. I hope that now June has met a few of us she will join John, knowing that we are not all bad. John gave a resounding renditition of his cooking prowess which had a certain Bare Rambler in a bit of a state. I really hope things have calmed down a little Geoff, or at least Suzie has taken care of it.
A good three plus hours put in by a wonderful group of people. Til we meet again, travel safe and enjoy.

Hello everyone
What a great day was had by all....and thank you Sharon for your great organization skills in getting us all together in the one place.....well done ! Re the dilemma with John's mouth-watering menu's, it wasn't as hard as I first thought, so the problem subsided fairly quickly.
Hope we can all catch up again,
Cheers

Thanks Sharon for organising such a great afternoon. It was great meeting fellow GNs and being able to put faces to names.
Hopefully we will catch up again on our travels around the traps and maybe even another gathering at some time soon.
It was lovely to meet everyone who attended and yes, stories and laughter were the theme of the afternoon. Thanks again Sharon.
Cheers

If so I am kicking myself for missing it. The Glen is only 5 minutes walking distance from my home.

Ooops Cupie, you are right it was the Glen hotel. Wow, my mistake and I had not even had a drink. It was a great day and sad that you were not able to make it.
To everybody else, thank you for showing up and having a great time. As i said before, it is really wonderful to meet other GN's to learn from, develop friendships and know that there are kindred spirits out there.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the day too Sharon. Good to see the nomads I'd already met, and met some new ones.
Hope to see you all again out in the playground.
