Just read a post on FB about a truckie pulling up in a designated truck stop north of Goondoowindi only to find it just about full of caravaners. He turned on his air-conditioner to have a sleep and about an hour later a knock on his window revealed a caravanner complaining about the noise. The truckie was on his mandatory break. Comments were made on the post - there will be those selfish few that will ruin it for everyone else. I know there are huge distances in some places but surely people must realise that these truckies have to have their rest breaks. It was said on another post that if you really needed to pull up in a truck rest area that you go right to the left and as far to the front as possible - the answer was oh! I never thought about that!! Surely one would think that it is just plain commonsense!!!

Truckies do it for livelihood , most of us do it for recreation , everybody has to work these things out together .

As a semi retiered Truckie of 35+ years on the road and normally fairly tolerant. I am afraid I would have done my lolly with that bloke, And he would have known in no uncertain terms on how pi$$ed of I would have been. He is lucky to come out of the episode with all his teeth and his car in one piece. A few of my truckie mates would have used him for a batering ram on his own car.
Cheers

if it was a designated TRUCK STOP then NO RVers should have been in there..
there are other "REST" areas that take both cars and trucks or just cars...
I stopped in a rest area coming back down from QLD recently... in NSW and it was just a "rest" area..
well, a truck came in and it was one of those refrigerated ones.. well, that's just stiff bikkies for me...
but here's what I do... put some ear plugs in and continue sleeping..
its not Rocket Surgery....

Commonsense as others have already said is getting as rare as hen's teeth.
I would like to add a little known Fact about truck stops.
If your Motorhome is Over 4.5 Tons in Qld you cannot park in town for more than an hour, You must also use truck stops when travelling the highway. Check it out it's on the Qld Dept of Transport website.
Logic doesn't come into it when they make the road rules If everyone followed the letter of the law where would we be. Truck stops full of Big Rigs and you wouldn't have time to do your shopping or see the sights if you abided by the one hour parking rule.

School holiday time brings out a lot of inexperienced caravanners, too bad many don't do forums or join a club to benefit from shared information.
Some people are self centred beyond belief, hope the poor truckie ended up getting his rest.
