Hi, All! I'm a recently retired electrician/electronics technician and have a modest but comfortable 2007 Avan Rhys H/T. My wife Gail and I are just getting started! Look forward to sharing experiences and assisting with technical problems (if I can).

Thanks, Guru! We have actually been out several times since we bought the van a year ago using the company car which came with free fuel. Now that we have to pay for our own, we will probably be more prudent with our travels! In my efforts to make our van more 'free camp friendly' I found that there are some issues with the Avan which need to be improved. I have done extensive research on the main control unit - an Elektroblock EBL109-6 and I have to say that Avan seem to be totally unsupportive to owners and agents alike with regard to electrical issues and especially why the DC charger function is left disconnected. I eventually had to seek help from a UK Elektroblock service agent - A&N Caravan Services in Wales - who couldn't have been more helpful. I have schematic diagrams and some general information regarding van batteries that is quite a revelation! If anyone would like a copy of this info, just ask. I need to again express my thanks to Allan Evans at A&N Caravan Services for his kind assistance. Regards, Chris.
