In recent times my wife and I bought a new Crusader Pop Top Caravan from Cameron Caravans in Adelaide. I've had a whinge (or two) about customer service regarding the manufacturer and retailer in this forum.
Well, we have just returned from a 10 day trip to the Flinders Ranges where the factory fitted microwave oven played up.
A phone call and an email to Camerons last Monday, followed by a phone call from Crusader on Wednesday resulted in a Brand New Microwave turning up at home on Friday.
Now that's what I call customer service. Thanks very much guys

I think a lot of Dealers today, whether it be RVs or a new refrigerator, honor their obligations. It is only to their advantage to promote their business. Unfortunately you can never eliminate the few rogue traders that are around, only publicize the facts so people like us know who to avoid.

Those of us who have been long term members of Choice would like to think that our subs over the decades have helped.
Choice 27 Nov 2013 Seven things you should know about your ACL rights
If theres a sign that says no refunds, no refunds on sale items, or exchange or credit note only for return of sale items, it contravenes the ACL. You can return something if it doesnt do what youd reasonably expect it to or isnt of acceptable quality. But stores arent obliged to take it back if you change your mind or find a better deal somewhere else.
If a product is not of acceptable quality, the retailer cant charge you for fixing it.
Retailers cant just refer you to the manufacturer theyre obliged to resolve your issue.
If the problem is major, you can ask for a refund or a replacement rather than a repair.
You should be informed if a replacement is second-hand or if theyve used refurbished parts to repair it.
Repairs must be made within a reasonable time. Mobile phones and fridges, for instance, must be given high priority, or you can demand a replacement.
Good onya Kendo! Good news re a dealer is very welcome!

Lol...Hey! I didn't say I'd buy another Caravan from them!!! (see my other posts on that topic)
I was just acknowledging finally getting some customer service from them. As the thread name says "Credit where it is due".
Would I buy another RV from Camerons?...NO!
Would I buy another Crusader?.......no (They have slightly redeemed themselves with the microwave, BUT they have a way to go before I would look again)
