I'm having a van built and have included an external shower in the build. The van will have a full en suite. Is an external shower overkill / needed? At almost $500 for the fit, I'd appreciate feedback from anyone who has one. Cheers Keith

We've got one and never used it. Friends have them and most have never used theirs either. Never seen one in use at any of the sites we've stayed. I could find better things to spend $500 on.

I agree, with a full en suite, I doubt it would ever get used. The only use I can think of is perhaps if you have kids and camp near the beach or a river and you want to give them (or maybe yourselves) a rinse when they come out of the water.
Spend it on solar or an extra battery I reckon...

I've got exterior hot/cold shower and attached shower tent.....in addition to Caravan Ensuite which does get the use........never used the exterior set up...can't get Granddaughter to use it either...prefers to bring her sandy feet into the Van ensuite after a swim.....ensuite toilet and showers have special fascination for kids.....its the space on site and time to set up that makes me leave it all packed and unused....probably the only additional accessory on my Van that has never been used...Hoo Roo

We had one on a previous van, used it very rarely, just the odd occasion if I'd been beach fishing to wash the salt from my legs, otherwise no.
I'd save the money.

My new Den looks like it will have an external shower but can't see why I would need it or myself using it at this stage but it's there so never know.

We took one away with us but never used in over 104 nights on the road - if we had used it we would have lost precious water plus have the problem of standing in mud unless you are standing on concrete. A few litres of hot water and a flannel kept us pure.
Good Luck.
