Hi JAY JAY, I have a 2.5 diesel auto 2011 MN GLXR pulling a Cruise liner AVan with ease (1200kg ). ...Canopy is lined inside to prevent condensation, hard to see through tinted canopy glass, so have installed a camera just to be safe.
regards yb.

We have a 2010 2.5l Diesel and love it. Pulls our Retreat van weighing in at around 2900kg and returns around 19L/100km on fuel.
Very comfy especially for rear seat passengers, biggest rear seat area in its class.

Tows my 19' Heritage as well if not better than my previous LandRover TD5...this is 2.5L Diesel Triton....just towed my horse float to W.A. prospecting with ease...over some hairy tracks...only comment I would make is the auto version diesel motor is detuned to handle the auto set up, and the manual therefor is the best combination and no detuning....get the GLXR as it has 17" wheels for clearance as well as some other goodies.....
The space is unbelievable with the rear cab as well.. mine now has roof racks as well....Hoo Roo
I have a 2012 GLX-R manual, tows our 19-6 StarCraft with no probs and as said very comfy.

When it comes to turbo technology . Mitsubishi is right up there with the best..
Our diesel work Tritons get a hard time as everybody drives them. They get well serviced tho..
Have 150,000 klmrs before they auction them off.. Not too many issues ..
What one has to be carefull with ALL these high output diesels is contaminated fuel ..
Accidentally filling with petrol etc..
The 4WD has lower compression, more boost and more power, at the expense of more lag ( turbo threshold ) on take off..
For pretty much permanent towing I would fit a better auto trans cooler and use overdrive lock out on hilly roads..

Hi NandK, thanks for your answer about the triton, and I was also interested in you saying you had a StarCraft. We are considering buying
the very same model... I would be interested to hear your opinion on this caravan - likes and dislikes, please.... thanks, Jay-Jay

Ours is a 2013 2.5Lt diesel 4x4 Auto.
I've finally gone far enough towing our Pop Top van to work out the fuel milage. Towing a 1.7t Pop Top van with the back of the ute loaded as well, from south of Adelaide to Quorn returned 12.9Lt/100km.
I recon I'm happy with that (and no oil used either )
