Arrived on Saturday after spending a couple of nights at some interesting place.
We left Kendall Thursday morning after a windy couple of days and travelled north as far as Ballina. We stayed at the Sandalwood Caravan Park 10 km before Ballina and it is a lovely little park which I would recommend. The owners are very friendly, showed us to our spot and helped us set up. Nice touches like a bath in the amenities ( probably good if you had children) and even a bowl of flowers on the vanity.
Friday night we stayed at the Maryborough Showground. Huge area with lots of powered sites. It was really buzzing there. At one end of the Showground there was a Pony Club rally that was well under way and looked as though it would go on all weekend. Then at the other end of the Park they were setting up for a 2 day remote controlled car rally. So, it was very busy but the area was so big there were no problems at all. Only $17 for a site.
After a quck check out of Bundaberg we finally arrived at 1770. It was absolutely packed and I didn't enjoy the maneuvering to get into our site. However, we did make it, tightly fitting near some coconut palms and once we were set up we could appreciate the beauty of the spot. Absolute paradise. Just a few too many noisy people for my liking. We have put up our end screen so just look at the view.
Even though it was difficult "manuvering" into you spot you certainly look relaxed, sitting back with arms folded behind head. Good for you both. Enjoy your travels through a lovely area.

Hmmm... beautiful spot. VERY crowded though. We were considering this as our next stop, not too sure now.

Looks like a nice place, expect to have a couple of days at Yaamba and also at Calliope then drive to Agnes Waters and down. Will call in to see if you are still there but I avoid staying at caravan parks and plan to camp at Norval Beach next to the Council Park beside the beach. I was shown that camp by Jac Mac on a previous visit to Gin Gin. Thanks John.

1770 is on our list, the people we are staying with have friends there, so camp-up will be easy.
