As I understand it, caravan sites in the Camp books, the latest of course is 7, only have sites that are free or up to $22 a night - well that was the price for paid sites in Camp 6. I found this out by not being able to find sites like the Big 4 at Cannonvale / Airlie Beach.
What's the best book available with the rest of the sites in it, if there is one of course?
Cheers

If you want a list of CVP's there is a book out by the same people as Camps called "CVP's Australia Wide" or maybe get "Wiki Camps"
Your State Auto Club will also have a book with CVP's as well.

Pleasure, hope I was of some help.
If you work with "Camps" and "Wiki" you will always find a nice spot to set up camp for a night or longer.

Yep - that's what we do - use both to find a spot - Camps 8 will be out in February/March 2015 - they have been out and about taking photos for the new issue, met up with them in - well, somewhere on our travels a while ago!
if im looking for a BIG4 i'll just go to their website and then go to the area I want by clicking on the links etc..
so I use my smartphone, Tablet or Laptop...
I use wikicamps on my smartphone for when I decide ive had enough driving for the day... just pick a camp that's close by to where ever I am...

Camps 3 was $18, it has been $22 since Camps 5. In addition if you look at the page "About This Guide" you will see the last sentence of "Site Costs" reads:
"Some Caravan Parks and Station Stays are more expensive but have been included because of their position."
Caravan Parks Australia Wide is the only book I know of that attempts to list all tourist parks without favour and paying a free.
For those without a pad that will load Wickicamps there is Gary Stratton's MyParkList.com You will get much more up to date info on this site than in books. This site has a few ways of getting park lists so it may appear complicated at first. My preferred access is to click on the Caravan Parks tab and then on Caravan Park Maps by Town. You get a page with drop down tabs where you can select state and town (all towns are there whether they have parks or not.) When you click for maps you get a pop-up Google Map centred on your town. The map has pins for all the parks around (up to a hundred or so kilometres.) Clicking on the pins produces another pop-up with links to further information. Give it a go if you already have not (and don't forget to report discrepancies to Gary so we can have the most up-to-date info.) The site also links to Badger's Australian Caravan Reports, don't forget to submit reports and updates to that as well.

Caravan parks Australia Wide link;
http://www.campsaustraliawide.com/product/caravan-3-pre-order/
Better than RAC guides as they only list those who pay to be in it....
The Big 4 site may be helpful also, see;
http://airliebeach.qld.big4.com.au/
