A very big THANKYOU to David and Carol for a great day and very productive as well.
David and I went to where he bought his caravan from and what can I say? There could just be a feathered chief of indians involved in this discussion soon.
Um, well, the field is narrowing down for sure. I wanted to narrow the field down to 3 to choose from and so far there are 2 on the list with one more to check out that could find it's way in the top 3. That is the one in Adelaide, so will know if it cuts the mustard by Tuesday lunchtime.
Not only that but as well even, David then took me around to someone that makes all things in aluminium and I could have a nice set up in the back of the Colorado at a really good price. Just what the doctor ordered actually. I will have the drawing board out tomorrow to get a sketch and measurements together so I can email to him for a price and fitting time etc.
I get this feeling that my late wife is looking down at me and putting things into place as it seems to be just happening.
WATCH THIS SPACE.

Very generous couple, for the last 2 years David and Carol visited us at Greens with morning tea and gifts.
Isn't it great Doug when things fall into place, with a little help from our friends.
Being positive and expecting things to go well seems to attract the best results.

I have had many chats with David about those "dreaded batteries" Juergen but at this stage I am settling for 300w of panels on the roof and 120w portable to follow that big gold circle in the sky. There will be 220ah worth of deep cycle power on board to run the goodies with. More than enough for my plans. I have decided to go with a 3 way fridge with fans fitted at this stage but that might change Tuesday.
It's been a great day and I am one happy camper and I tell you that for free.

Yes John, a positive outlook, attitude and well thought out plan in place, then action stations. Something I learnt from yet another GN and member of this great forum, YOU my friend.

Thanks Doug, a positive attitude has been my greatest asset since starting out and will continue to be.
If I think that I can do something I can but the opposite is also true. John

Good one Doug - Plendo and Carol are lovely people - and as you say, reckon your late wife is smiling down. she has been waiting for you to move on with your life, so she is happy now. Keep the positive attitude and all things come good. See you at Greens. (if we recognise you and your new rigout)

Hello Doug and good luck on Tuesday
Make sure that all the things you want for the van are done at the build and the tare weight reflects that otherwise your allowable weight will be a lot less.

Doug, it was our pleasure to assist by introducing you to the places we felt offered the best value in their respective fields, and I must admit, it was a pleasure to watch your face light up when you found a a van that ticks the boxes that are important to you.
Good to see you re emerge John, I do not see you post very much any more.
I presume you would be planning to summer in your southern roost (Greens), and if so you might have to put up with a bit more of us this year, as we are planning to spend some time up there when we can get away. AND you never know, we may get the pleasure of watching Doug learn about his new van.

True David I haven't been posting as many threads, staying in the one spot for a week at a time I have been adding to the original location thread.
Just spent a week at Boulder Creek followed by a week at St Lawrence so it does look as if I am not posting as much but the original thread just gets longer.
I expect to be at Greens by the Melbourne Cup Weekend and prop until January. Hope to see you both there.

Just don't set up the camp chairs in a row as I arrive and start setting up if I have the new Den by then or I might just charge admission for the entertainment

I thought I might update this thread for anyone following it.
Adelaide trip on Tuesday went well and was worth the trip. Unfortunately the van I went to look at didn't tick all the boxes. Nice van for anyone looking for what they offer and at the price they offer. They sales manager, Andrew, even offered to "sharpen the pencil" as he called it yesterday, Wednesday and offered to look at price again. The van just didn't have that "wow" factor for me. We are all different and have different ideas of what we want or need.
Thanks also to "tcp99" Terry for picking me up from the airport and dropping me back. Also to "Glenelg" Dave for meeting us and spending some time over morning tea. Good to meet you Dave and next time we meet I should be in my new rig and you yours.
