Transport Accident Report - Australia Wide wo #QFES fire appliances responded to a truck roll-over on the Mitchell Highway, 30km south of Charleville at around 9.30pm on Friday. Eight people were injured in an explosion, including four firefighters who received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Toowoomba and Charleville Hospitals. The two firefighters treated at the Charleville Hospital have since been released, and the two firefighters treated at the Toowoomba Base Hospital are still recovering in hospital. The fire appliances in attendance sustained extensive damage due to the explosion. QFES will continue to monitor the situation as the incident is expected to be protracted for a couple of days.

What a horrible scene, I am glad all seem to on the mend. I wonder what actually happened in the first place. The road will probably be closed for a while too with that damage.

The load on the truck was a Load of Ammonia-Nitrate.. From what the report have said.. is the truck Rolled..
The Fuel Tank had split mixed with the Fertilizer [Which makes for a VERY Good Explosive] there was also a Fire which Ignited the whole Lot...
It the same Mix that was used in Kansas city...
- If you have a Look at the Photo you will notice an elevated Railway track... It looks like the track was pushed at least 1m sideways.. If that track is active.. it means that that section of railway is also out of commission..
Anyone intending to travel this route would be advised to seek an alternative.
