I was given notice on my granny flat a week ago, after being here for almost 10 years. No slight against me, landlord wants to reno etc.
So after much thinking and discussions with my lovely doctor this morning, I've decided to put my stuff into storage and get out into the playground. The only plan I have is to firstly camp by the water somewhere, breath, walk and eat healthy, and regain some strength. I'll stay in SEQ for the time being and see what happens after I feel better.
I still plan to get a campervan whenever this damned insurance payout comes through, but for now, it's still Lucy, Lulu and me.

Hi Beth. Sometimes something good comes from something bad. I think that this has happened to give you a gentle nudge in the right direction. Opportunity really is knocking...just in time for the weather to warm up too. Catch you soon. Pam.

Thanks folks. I figure if one keeps thinking positive, something's bound to improve. You know the song, 'I get knocked down, but I get up again...'
You're right about the weather Pam, Spring is looking mighty good. And as I said on the phone, I'll be sure to send opportunity your way asap.

Hi Beth,
Good luck. I think it is a good thing. Do it now, live in the playground, have a ball and later have no regrets just great memories.

Hope it all works out Beth, do you have the option of moving back into the flat once it has been renovated?
I suppose that would also depend on how much the owner is going to ask in rent when it has been renovated.
Good luck with whatever you do.

Good on ya Beth. At least you will be out in the playground enjoying playing. I'm not far off being full time myself. Nothing in storage though.

Well, this is an experiment for the time being, so I don't want to burn my bridges and get rid of my stuff altogether. I may find down the track that I need a fixed abode, but I'm just going to be a homeless bum for awhile and see how it pans out.
Vic, no I wouldn't come back here anyway. I feel the rising damp has been a hindrance to my Asthma. I'd certainly never live underneath a house again. My niece offered me the flat under their house, but it's damp and cold too.
Not a nice subject but, it looks like I'll be having Colorectal surgery next year, so post surgery I should be Steroid free, and a whole lot healthier.
Yes, Bill, NQ is on my list.
Thank you all for your support over the last two years of my being grounded with ill health. I really appreciate all the good 'vibes'.
And naturally, I look forward to meeting up with lots of GN's out there in the playground.

Understood Beth, I once lived in a bedroom under the high limestone foundations of an old house and found the dust and dampness no good either I moved as soon as I could.
Good luck with the surgery

Hi Beth, that's exciting news. Good luck with it all and don't forget that I have a spare bed here in nambucca Heads (just south of Coffs Harbour). It's cold and wet right now but that should improve in the near future.
