Last night in Ravenshoe I was kept awake by a drip from the ceiling.... we had a leak!!! The dew had pooled at the front right-hand side of the van where it found a way in. Oh dear, something else to fix.
This morning Mr D simply altered the slope of the van, and after it had dried out, covered a small broken bit of sealant on the corner of the pop-top with some Tape. (You know, the most useful thing in the tool box!!)
This was the first night we had had a dew for about 4 months, it has been so very dry in WA, NT, and North West Qld. Dusty campsites have been the norm. Bore water meant we purchased drinking water. All the small towns we visited are doing it tough in the drought especially in Qld. Then we arrive at Ravenshoe, beautiful green, wet, Ravenshoe, waterfalls and misty mountains....
We're so lucky we don't have to deal with this drought, we can drive through and drive away. I hope the bits and pieces we on which spent money helped a bit. And the biggest problem we have is a leaky van roof, its nothing.

Gerty, the further south you go the colder and wetter it is. I am near Warrnambool and the weather feels like base camp, straight from the Arctic land. I even thought I saw a penguin walk past before.
Hope all is well with you both and get that leak sorted soon.

Gerty hi
What a great place to rest a while, we spent a night there a few weeks back things went wrong and we could only stay the one night but did promised the caretaker we will come back next year and spend some time helping out. Met the lady who runs one of the main stores what a of wonderful mix of people in that small town, friendliness in the Engineerings shop, Ambulance drivers, medical staff at Atherton.
We will be back Ravenshoe. Ralph

Glad you found the leak Gerty, the Atherton Tablelands is one of my favourite places also.
Big change in weather after the dust and heat (warmth) but the weather will improve soon as we head into Spring/Summer.
