In my new van there is just not enough room to carry the Lemair washing machine in the ensuite by about an inch so what do i do?
carry in the back of the patrol laying on its side?
is this possible or will it put too much load on the bowl ?
or is there a smaller machine out there?
are there any other choices as i would like to take a machine

Do not travel with the machine on it's side as you will damage the suspension springs in the washer.
I have had a bit of experience repairing a few of these machines and the drum suspension is not the strongest, even with the polystyrene packer in place the drum could still move in that position, far better to stand upright for travel.

I agree with Brian, never let your machine lay on it's side while traveling, for that very reason,
We have a Lemair Machine and it travels upright in the back of our Patrol,
I always make sure the polystyrene insert is in the top of the bowl to stop it from bouncing around inside the machine,
if you find the polystyrene makes a squeaking noise while traveling, you can wrap the insert with Duck tape, that will stop the noise.

We've had a lemair for over 11 years and had our share of discharge hose issues but in the end a rubber type with a slight angle from an old dishwasher has cured it. I believe most of our issues were due to inferior hoses and the fact Evernew initially plumbed it to HOT water not cold. The only other issue we had was a slipping belt, easily tightened. Great little machine although I came close to throwing it out due to the hose issues but on the spin cycle the clothes are nearly dry. Since fixing the hose issue we have put around 40 loads through it and not a problem. Sorry, I know that wasn't the question but I would definitely not travel with it lying down or without the styrene filler for the bowl in it.

I am not sure about this styrene bit for the bowl
I didn't have that in my other van
What does it look like?

Allan, it fits in the top of the drum and sits on the plastic area around the machine inside the lid. It really is just a packing piece for transit to the store to prevent damage to the machine and it just stops the drum wobbling when in transit. I do know if you buy off the floor some outlets throw them out with the rest of the packing. Maybe try some outlets to see if they have any spares? Failing that contact the Australian agents and see if you can get one.
