I recently attended a camping expo in Toowoomba and came home with a solid blue steel hotplate from the Hillbilly Camping Gear stand for my Baby Q.
Works well with bacon and eggs!

Howdy David, good to see back, I haven't seen you around for ages and always enjoy your posts and gadgets.
When you say " solid blue steel" is that like you see in the local hamburger joint?

David
Do you cook with lid down using your hot plate and the cost is it expensive?

you can buy this plate on-line - just search Baby Q. $65 incl post. Weber have just brought out a new model Baby Q - haven't seen them, so don't know if it is any better or just a "tart up" of the previous model

Our Weber Baby Q runs off the caravan 9kg bottles via a bayonet. Not special gas bottle required. Really depends on how much cooking you plan to do using the Weber. In our case, we have 2x9kg bottles to run the gas cooker and oven, weber and hot water. We usually refill 1x9kg bottle per month.

Ihave just bought the new babyQ and the solid plate for cooking eggs and stuff, it only covers half you take half the grill off and the plate drops in it,s place. I asked the retailer about 2 plates so it would make a bbq he said you cant put a whole plate on or you would voide your warrenty at least half has to be grill.
