Take action with the start of bad weather between Geraldton to Albany including the Perth metropolitan region.
Sunday 17 August 2014 - 9:44 PM
If you live between Geraldton to Morawa to Cunderdin to Albany you should take action and stay safe with the start of severe thunderstorms.
This includes people in, near or between the following towns: Jurien Bay, Geraldton, Dalwallinu, Narrogin, Katanning, Albany, Margaret River, Bridgetown, Busselton, Bunbury, Mandurah, and the Perth Metropolitan area and surrounding areas.
This is typical weather for this time of year but could damage homes and make travel dangerous.
As I report this, I can hear the thunder out near the Coast, it's going to be a Boomer.
Hope you were all ok over night and remain ok until the bad weather clears.

All passed over in our part of Perth Doug, thanks. Thanks for the info KJ
I am hoping the rain completely put the bushfire out just east of Sufils place at Neergabby.

I fertilized the lawn and the roses late yesterday afternoon in anticipation of the rain overnight. Woke up this morning and its bone dry. Oh well, maybe it'll rain sometime this week.

The storm missed us too. We got a little bit of rain but that was it.

We had a good bit of thunder and some heavy rain around 10.00pm last night,
but not enough to warrant a storm warning.
Guese the authorities are not taking any chances after recent tornadoes wrecked havoc around Perth.

We had thunder and lightning and heavy rain, also some more heavy rain today.
I see where a ship lost it's mooring in the storm and crashed into Fremantle bridge, see;
It came pelting down about 8.30 this morning and since then we've had wave upon wave of heavy squalls coming through.

Had to go down to Joondalup this morning, left here with clear blue sunny sky, by the time we got to Yanchep it was raining. Rained for the three hours we were in Joondalup and drove home to sunny skies again. There has been a couple of little showers since we got home but the sky is still blue.

I can see now why the authorities issue these warnings,
it appears there was another tornado that ripped through Bunbury and did a lot of damage to roofs as it passed.
