Hey Fran. Make sure you pull into a couple of the photo stops between there and The boarder at 13 ks east of the boarder there is a spectacular lookout the best one of all there is plenty of room to park and you can go for a nice walk to the cliff which are not as steep here. You get a great view of the coast as it sweeps around to the west. 12 ks after the boarder is Eucla also a must . The old telegraph station.AT 113 ks east of the boarder you will see the first of the air strips that that are part of the high way.
12 ks west of C0ckelbiddy at a parking bay on your right hand side is the road into the big c0clkelbiddy caves it is easy to miss there is very little signage.
And remember you are not alowed to take ANY fresh fruit or honey or any raw wool products or raw bee product like bees wax ect they will be taken of you at Quarantine
You will enjoy this section it is spectacular I have been back and forth across there about 400-500 times in the road train in the last 1 years, and still wonder at the view every time

If you have pets, keep your eyes on the Dingo's if they are still around (the Rangers cull them from time to time).
You are not supposed to feed them but I have seen people do it.

After leaving Echuca 2 nights ago we camped 10ft from the edge of the cliff at the 52km peg.....it was windy, raining and dark as hell with great waves crashing 100ft below us. I admit I was very apprehensive I can tell you. If you can, try camping there as it is an experience money cannot buy. No facilities and you will be on your own.

Nearly lost the long rear wind out window of my then Avan Aliner camper trailer there Denis, there were strong northerly winds blowing out to sea, the roof was down and the window locked but it started to lift in the wind. On inspection, the hinges had worn through the rivets holding the window hinges. Had to wire and strap the window down.
We were parked sideways to the wind, if we had driven out into the wind before SWMBO noticed it the hatch would have ended up in the Bight for sure. Luckily the inside levers on the lower side of the window were locked tight and had Velcro holding them in place, as well as the lower chain wind out helping keep the window in place.

Love your photos - Head of the Bight is a great spot isn't it? We are currently camped at Camps7 site #13 and will be heading east tomorrow. We plan on stopping tomorrow night at a stack site about 10K on the SA side of the WA/SA border. Enjoy your trip. Brenda and Alan.

Well i never look whats just pulled up next to me, getting ready for it to leave. It has 2 pilot vans with it, going to Port Lincoln, only cost $15,000.00 to transport her.

I'm a new member, still stuck in Sydney for a while, but my toyota hiace poptop is nearly fitted out and I'll be doing little trips b4 more serious adventures next year.

Well i've seen the whales at Head of Bite, now i'm settling in on the Nulla
will do a bit of star gazing tonite.
Hoping to see the Nulla Nymph HE is supposed to be Gorgeous.
