Got this in my inbox today, not sure how they got my email address, they say my profile but the only place I have a profile is here on GN and I don't have my email address listed.
I suspect my addy may have been picked up off an email from my joke exchange with friends, some in the UK and Holland, and they have not deleted my email address before they sent it on to someone else (I always deleted others email addy's from a joke or other communication before onforwarding it, although I have asked others not to (as I see others emails on the ones some send me) it seems to fall on deaf ears so might have to eliminate some of my email contacts.
Interesting that this sender does not use my first name only "Hello", but sends me "her" love (I'll bet "she" has testicles).
The email addy has @ yahoo.fr, does that mean they are using a French speaking address???
Can someone tell me how to copy their provider ID so I can pass it on to Scamwatch please.
Here is the email;

My name is Miss Amanda Zakari, It give me a great pleasure to write you. I was browsing when i came across your Profile and it attracts me to write to you so that we can be friends. I love making new friends and learning from their culture and environment. I will be very happy to be in communication with you so that we can get to know each other better and see what happens in future. These kinds of emails are quite common and some are even "generated" automatically and sent to any or all email addresses their scanners can find by trolling through the Internet. IF you had responded, they would most likely start up a chat relationship with you and given time, they will probably, eventually ask you for money for the air fares to come over to meet with you... which of course, would never happen.
I make it a rule... if I don't know who the email is from and appears suspect, it's deleted. I do not open them at all, especially ones with links and/or pictures.
If I'm unsure, I will move them to my "Junk" or "Spam" box, which renders all links and attachments inoperative and then open them to check. If I find it's OK, then return them to the Inbox to open... otherwise it gets deleted.
NEVER open a suspect email. If it really is important, they will find another way to contact you. Also be careful using "Preview" settings in your email program as this can automatically open and display suspect contents.
Apart from being wary and careful, there's not much else you can do unfortunately. I find it rather sad though, that one needs to on the alert all the time for these PIA scammers.

You will just be wasting your time reporting these emails, just delete as soon as you see them, I would receive at least 15 of these emails each day, don't click on an unsubscribe button if that is available as this will just verify that yours is a genuine email address and you will receive even more spam.

get Mailwasher Pro and you will not even see the emails once you set it up correctly, you only see what is on your server BEFORE you download them to your computer, been using this program for years

I thought one of Doug's or Wombat's twins was jumping ship (or is that RV's?) at first but no such luck!

It amazes me how quick that an email address picks up spam. I setup a new email address for our men's shed and within a week I was inundated with spam from china trying to sell stuff they thought our shed would be interested in. In the last week the spam went up 200%. Just love the gmail spam filter. Lately I'm getting calls on our VoIP line which has a strange number but the Microsoft scam about our computer having problems.... I just tell them to go cluck themselves.
