I heard my name mentioned from here in Hervey Bay.
Now, Kevin, mate, lets get something clear The twins don't help me in that department You must miss T 1 cos she has come back many times, you must just tune in when she is going off to empty the toot, it is her job. The three of us have our chores to do each day. You will know when she is coming back cos she carries the toot in her right hand.

As with Rocky It is a bit easier being a male but sometimes you might have to sit down on the job so my on board facilities come into the equation then.

Truck drivers usually know where there is a loo - or some with sleeping cabins may carry a porta loo - lots of garages on main routes have facilities for drivers to have showers, use the loo, etc., and their own dining room where they can relax over a meal.
When the kids were younger and we travelled, we would always make them go to the look if we stopped near one, whether they thought they needed to or not - usually found they did when they got I there.
Of course, when you see a trucky kicking his tyres, he is just checking to see which one needs watering!!!!

From what I have seen a lot of truckies don't use them when they are provided. One of the cleaners was talking to me at one of the stops along the Hume. He pointed out the clods in the truck parking space, they just get out of the truck and do it there and then.

Johathan, when the cleaner has pointed out the little mounds in the truck parking area of a rest area with separate areas for trucks, caravans and cars you tend to believe him. Also when he says he has seen them do the job it is first hand info coming from him. He is not the only one I have talked to.
I have conversed with the contractor Who does Tomcat Creek several time. I have met up with the contractors as far away as NT. They all have similar stories. There have been far too many incidents relayed to me to be brushed of as simply 3rd party hearsay.

Many have toilets dedicated to truckies,, you don't always see them or have access to them. Often accessed through dining/truckies eating area.
Having just come back from a mere 5 week 3200klm trip and about to go on a
12 week trip northwards. On this last trip I took notice of the number of toilets
in truck stops and rest areas. Very few!!! I wonder how the long distance drivers
cope?? Do they have a condition built in that says "ok no toilets for the next 6-7 hours,
I'll be ok " Do the powers that be ever consider the bladder of the truckie?? Judging by
the lack of facilities, I doubt it. How do they cope? How do we cope if we don't have inbuilt facilities
in our rigs? Those of you who have been travelling longer and more widely than me maybe able to help
solve the bladder riddle.
I know Dougwe has the twins to help. Though I notice one is continually walking away.
Isn't it weird how silly thoughts stick in your head and then wander around until
you have to vent.
Sorry about that, I feel better now.
Kevin
Gday...
It is easier for a bloke - especially when travelling solo
.... just find a tree
However, this site might be beneficial - https://toiletmap.gov.au/Find
