Hi wendy trezise, we have Gas heating as our car is petrol we didn't really want to carry another lot of fuel. Our gas heater is fantastic.....actually to hot for me .....just right for Reggie.
We put the package under the seat where the hot water is so there is already all the works for the gas there.

Hi Wendy, welcome to the forum.
We have a diesel heater and find it's great. It's a little noisy and sounds like a 747 when its starting up but soon settles down and it heats up the van so quickly as well as being really economical, 10 litres of diesel seems to last forever.

Diesel here.. In motorhome fitted under Lounge. Very quiet. Used fuel from main tank. Don't notice any change on fuel gauge ..
Very economical , hardly run it higher than 1/4 setting.

We have a diesel heater in our fifth wheeler. It is fantastic, very efficient and economical. We carry a jerry can of diesel to top it up.
We chose diesel rather than gas because if we are camping out for any length of time we wanted to keep the gas for cooking, hot water and the fridge.

Also much earier to source diesel and to refill a jerry can than to lump a 9 kg gas bottle around.

being on the road full time our choice was diesel due to the fact we need the gas for cooking and the fridge when we were in WA doing the goldfields and flowers gas was $40 a refill so far dearer than diesel
