Back last month when we were leaving Coober Pedy and heading north, we went past this dude hitching a ride on the side of the road.
He was in his mid forties, slim, tanned and wearing a "G" string...nothing else except a big smile. One arm was raised thumbing a ride and other, also raised carried his 'luggage' which appeared to be a small ladies handbag, maybe carrying a change of clothes.
We were gob-smacked and just looked at each other in amazement....didn't stop but wished we did.
Maybe he is a regular feature of Coober Pedy.
Anyone know?
Regards

He might be walking around OZ Denis as I saw a person that sounds the same one between Townsville and Charters Towers a while back heading in that direction.
I thought I was seeing things. He must have got a lift as he was no where to be seen on way back.

Sounds like it Steve. That or the poor guy has lost the lettuce as well.
Shouldn't joke I spose cos he more than likely has a slight disability.
I didn't see a sign, did you Denis? Maybe he is raising money for something. Just a thought.

Possibly the same guy we saw hitching a ride in Katherine a while back - couldn't believe our eyes - this travelling is interesting in more ways than one!!!!

I haven't seen that bloke, but I did see a naked Barbie Blow Up Doll propped up against a bush in a rest area up north once, not sure if she was hitching a ride......she had been put out to dry I think and someone had driven off and forgotten her (brand new by the look of her).
An ex girlfriend took a pic of me with my arm around the Doll and we left her there......

Must have got too much for him Doug, so if he can't handle a rubber dolly how is he going to cope with the cousins

In retrospect I wish I had left the ex girlfriend behind and took the doll, the ex girlfriend still has the photo, so goodness knows who she has shown it to over the years......

I don't doubt it Dr Doug! At least you and him have the twins and their cousins to have your photo taken with
That hitchhiker sounds like a strange one Denis, not sure I would want to give him a lift though, too many deep holes around Coober Pedy!
