Bushfire ADVICE for five kilometres south of Roebuck Plains Roadhouse in the Shire of Broome
Wednesday 30 July 2014 - 3:30 PM
A bushfire ADVICE remains for people travelling on Great Northern Highway, five kilometres south of Roebuck Plains Roadhouse, in the Shire of Broome.
There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke along Great Northern Highway. Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes. The fire started along Great Northern Highway and is burning alongside the highway and in Roebuck Plains.
BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR: The bushfire is moving slowly along Great Northern Highway, heading in a southerly direction. It is out of control and unpredictable. The bushfire has burnt approximately 3000 hectares.

Incredibly dry in NSW too. The no burn without permit season starts on 1 August this year for some districts in the Nth and Mid NSW I believe.

It's very dry here in Townsville and surrounds as well. It is to be expected tough as it is the dry season.
