My 16ft Avan is used once a month for a 3 night weekend. When not in use it is covered by a silver tarp. The van has greyish rub marks from the tarp. Any suggestions on how to remove these marks?

I am thinking the tarp has rubbed the paint off ,the gray colour could be the undercoat, may be a paint touch up job.

Is the van fibreglass or aluminium? If it is fibreglass you might be able to get some polish from a marine shop or auto shop that will do the trick. If aluminium, it might be a paint job like Lance said or some sort of cleaner. I seem to remember my silver tarp was grey underneath ?
I had my then Avan camper trailer under a silver tarp (in the fold down position) the summer heat was so intense under the tarp it melted the plastic domes flat.

There are a number of products for fibreglass including a cleaner and polish, as said previously, check out auto shops (Supercheap did stock them in the marine department) or preferably marine shops.
Lets know if you manage to get the marks off etc.
Don't use ordinary auto polish as it has and ingredient (which escapes me at the moment, ammonia I think) that will yellow your fibreglass).
