I have a small 4kg and a large 9kg gas bottle that are out of date and cannot be refilled. I live in Melbourne North Western suburbs or over the summer will spend a few weekends at the famous Greens Lake near Elmore Vic.

Why don't you have them inspected and extend the life cycle. Then you can use them again. I use 2 kg bottles and they cost $20.00 each to be inspected, however I haven't checked the new price to compare against inspection price...

Is there a local newspaper in your area that takes free classifieds once a week. Better if you can get a few Dollars for them than throwing them away. I'm in Tassie otherwise I'd take them..

Pete made a camp cooker out of one of ours that was out of date - works a real treat with the camp oven in it. We call it Cosmos, as it looks like a Sputnik spaceship.

That's what I was thinking if anyone wants one to do that i have seen them and they work great.

We saw one made up and the guy wanted $120 (this is a few years ago) and Pete thought he would have a go at it himself. Did a fabulous job too.
