I recently came across this FREE software and I thoroughly recommend it if you, like me, take many digital photos and then like to either post to a blog, or send to others via email.
The software does not alter the original picture /file, it copies them into a sub directory / folder and dramatically reduced the file size by compression. The best feature is that the original pictures are not altered in any way and you can select which pictures you want to compress.
the software is called ... PhotoRazor
free download from ... www.stormdance.net
PS: this is Windows PC compatible software, not sure if same is available for iPad etc?
Enjoy - Weg

Bruce and Bev, the algorithm used by the software to crunch the pic permanently removes information from the file. As a result when you try to enlarge the crunched pic it blurrs which is why the software does not over write the original - so you can still access the original pic if you want a better quality and larger pic.
