Presently in Derby and thinking of going into Barn Hill. Our van is not an off-roader and we would like to hear from anyone who may have recently been into the Station. Also what was the fishing like?

No personal experience but was told by a fellow camper that the access road was quite rough. We're presently at Cleaverville, access road slightly corrugated but quite reasonable, others here seem to be doing OK with the fishing.

We have been into Barn Hill a few times both with a caravan & a motorhome. Road isn't too bad just very dusty. (Well last time there was 3 years ago.) Some fish were being caught there but not a lot.

The access road is not that great a distance. It may be fine, it may be corrugated - won't know till you get there. But driven carefully and not too fast, normal van should not have issues.
We loved the place - but we are not that into fishing, so didn't matter whether or not they were around.
Things we liked: "bush" feeling about it - especially in the unpowered section. Night view across to the lights of Broome. Driver loved having internet and mobile coverage. Walking on the beach. Superb rock formations along the beach - very photogenic.
Would readily go back there for an extended stay.

We were there 5 days ago drove in with van drove straight out again road is guite rough with speed humps every 100 mtrs and the van spacing betweens each other is so close you are just about touching spent 40 days at port smith great fishing and plenty of mud crabs sand flys are about at present at 80 mile beach cheers Bowsie
Barn Hill, some love it some hate it, as for overcrowding, it just the end of the school holidays this week end, we are in Denham and are sighing a big relief, it's been chockers here too.
Ankle biters in their thousands (well felt like it ) mobs careering around the park on bikes, just an accident waiting to happen, but parents don't seem bothered or to care so long as they are off their hands.
Different park this morning when the majority started to move out, plenty of space now again.

Currently at Barn Hill. Road in was no problem - yes there are speed humps but they cause no problems. More space in the unpowered section (and a lot cheaper). No fish being caught from the beach Great spot for a stay.
