Another short trip north and we are at Bushy Parker Reserve Rollingstone. Arrived Monday early and found a great spot with plenty of solar opportunity but little sun to take of advantage of.
Paul has been in the best spirits since on the road again, walking to the shops in the morning and along the river bank in the afternoon. Chris has moved along to Babinda to have an auto elec look at her Redarc dc/dc charger.
Just had a poor effort in making piklets everything went wrong and after being so successful the last time at Baralaba. Not enough water added into the prepared bottle and it came out thick and lumpy was the first problem.
The second was that the spirit stove was outside and the wind didn't allow it to heat up. The third was my non stick frypan seems to be losing it's non stick features. All excuses I know but next time will be different. John
Paul is sure looking good - must be getting on the road - it is good for the human spirit - and the physical as well!!
Bushy Parker is a good spot - as are all the little spots along that way - where is your next port of call?

Had another great day at Rollingstone, during the morning we went to Balgal Beach camp to have a look around and were surprised to see that we could have fitted in both our rigs. We then went further up the beach where there is another free camp but it is only for tents.
Couldn't drive past the Opp shop without a visit but only bought a couple of books this time. Paul bought a couple of egg cups and a stylish tea pot.
Baked a chocolate cake this afternoon, read the instructions carefully and followed the recommendations. Used the new generator for the first time and operated the microwave for 6 minutes all went very well. It was a combined effort and augers well for our next attempt. John

John If you buy yourself a new non stick pan here is a tip I was given & my current pan is a few years old & still very good. Use rice bran oil. You can buy it at Woollies when on special about $20 for a 4 litre can which lasts ages. Regards Alice

Hi Alice, thanks for the tip will look for it next time. Am hoping that this one will come good with more care I don't think it was hot enough. It is not one of those black surfaced ones more like red stoneware with flecks. John

John - I have one of those type pans - only mine is grey - you need to "season" them before use - wash in soapy water, then heat and wipe out with a paper towel with really good oil on it - rice bran is good - but I just used canola - not too much, just a light coating - then let it cool - don't wash after use, just wipe with paper towel.
