Set off from Bluewater well before the ranger came and drove the 14kms up to Toomulla Beach, campers were leaving and there was plenty of room for us to camp. Set up in no time and was able to take the camera for a walk again.
I have described the facilities here on previous posts and also put up plenty of photos so there is little to say other than all is well and expect to be here until Monday morning. Probably will visit Bushy Parker Reserve next, we have avoided Saunders Park and Balgal Beach where I usually go but they are small and it would be almost impossible to find 3 vacancies at the one time in either. John
You know, I live in the area, and have never been to this spot. Thanks, John.

The camps book says 48hrs but the ranger calls and takes down rego numbers on Monday and Thursday.
Today Thursday he hasn't been round but we will stay until Monday morning.
There are 5 camps just north of Townsville and the rangers visit them all the same so on Monday when we arrived at Bluewater Park our numbers were taken and we left early Thursday.
It is all in the timing. John

I did. They spent all their time on the beach with the French back packers that arrived at the same time. John got very excited at the FBP arrival and I tell you that for free. I have to keep the twins away form John
It was great to spend time with you all, as usual. I hope Chris is still experiencing power with the people.

Many campers have left the camp site ,
The Dunny is chocked up
no luck for any camper's urgent needs
On the bright side the sun is shining and the mornings are not too cold.
we are thinking that we would like any camper to tag along with us to
Cairns then Tableland etc.
Cheers from Paul and crew

Thanks for the pics guys, they are really great to see! How the other half are living is sometimes a little hard to take! Especially as we have regularly been having frosts and I an highly allergic to them! Have a great time and keep having fun.....it will be our turn when the time is right ....and I have been working hard at it! 4 wheel drive arrived in the driveway today so it is getting closer all the time!

Thanks for the photo's and info about free camping around Townsville, I'm heading off to that area in a couple of days time. The photo's really made me look forward to staying at Toomulla Beach.

At Toomulla beach at the moment and it is still a great free camp. Quiet, clean and plenty of room. There is even a concrete slab that must have had a structure on previously and is a popular spot.
