Hi everyone, we are going to be embarking on our big trip in March next year, has anybody heard of the Pet Pass port system, where you get the owners of caravan park which you have stayed in with your dogs, where they write a report, reference or recommendation on how your beloved dogs comported them selves and you looked after showed responsible dog ownership whilst be a guest in their Park. Thanks

Hi Jill, Haven't heard of it but what a wonderful idea. Otherwise how do the Managers of the Caravan Parks know one dog owner from the other. Having neighbours in the Caravan Park recommend you and your dog would be another idea. We have often had our neighbors in CP's comment on how well our dog behaves.
Hope you track them down. All the best for your big trip. Come and say hello if you are in Hervey Bay/Fraser Island. Qld.

I am not 100 percent sure but I have heard that NRMA or their affiliated groups may be able to help. It may be worth a call.

3 dogs, mongrel will know this cos he is a "real" mongrel but has never had a good report though so he would be banned His lovely other half has now got him on a pink lead to try and control him
Maybe you could type up or get a document typed up saying how good your little mates are and have a section below for your neighbours to sign and where you were at the time, just have a few documents made up and keep in a folder. The owners/managers of parks might find it to much time to do a letter for you. I think you know what I mean.

Hi 3 Dogs,
I have heard of the Pet Passport system, in fact I printed out my own sheets of referral notes from various CP's but have to say it never really took off, mostly because those that are dog friendly are and those that are not won't change their minds.
I am now in a self contained motorhome and rarely use CP's, I still find a dog friendly one at least close to wherever I want to be...luckily I have no real desire to camp in the very up market posh places!

Hi everyone, thankyou for all your very helpful replies, the neighbour report is a great idea. Dougwe, I understand that the hosts of CP's would probably be to busy to write a report, but it would be nice to have references, just in case Mongrel, I'm looking forward to seeing you on your pink lead.lol and Annie thanks, yes unfortunately we are restricted to where we stay, and like you we will be virtually self contained, and from what I've been reading free camping is the way to go. Your Whippets look gorgeous. I have a Large Munsterlander and a Golden Retriever, my third dog, my beautiful Annie also a Large Munsterlander(great name by the way) has gone to the rainbow bridge since I joined the Grey Nomad Forum , so I'm now only 2 dogs, but I'm not changing my name. Happy Travels.

Hi Jill,
We have breeds in common, well at least I used to many moons ago, have a Large Munterlander a rescue, from back in the days when there were really only 2 breeders here in Australia.....and I have also been owned by a Golden Retriever in the past....trouble with getting older is there are so many dear friends waiting at the rainbow bridge....
The Whippets are just lovely to travel with and love the motorhome lifestyle!
