If you would like to give a few more details like the make and model and a general description of the MH including a hint on the price,I reckon there are a few members here that would give you a few things to be on the look out for...
Like with most things you get what you pay for but there are lots of MH's out there that are up for grabs becoz the previous owner is no longer able to use it..

Hi Fran,
Maybe google mobile mechanics in Melbourne might be best for the mechanical side, but you would need to get the inside inspected too (eg; leaks, appliances, electrical gas etc, etc) that your normal mobile mechanic could not do.
Maybe if you could get someone like this mob to inspect those items they may have some contacts for the mechanical side as well, see;
I am assuming they would have to come to you wherever the RV is situated, unless you can get the owner to take it to them.

The people at Melbourne RV were really helpful when we needed bits to repair our hot water unit. Much more helpful than the folks at Truma or specialist hose place.
I don't know if they would do it for a vehicle they were not selling, but Roberts RV - Campbellfield way - have a really big service/inspection department. They are the main Winnebago agents for Melbourne.
