We are in Broome - at Broome's Gateway CP - nice place - a bit different to normal CP's - no power! Have water, and the place is run on solar panels - $30 per night - which is cheap up here - has all other things needed - ablution blocks are individual shower/toilet units, plenty of room (shower with a friend!!) - the place is very natural, not crowded on top of one another - pets ok - and we arrived today to find they were having a $2 sausage sizzle tonight - they do it every Wednesday to raise money for different charities each week! Nice people - and good company.
Going to have a good look around tomorrow - and meet up with a friend of my grandsons. Went to Chinatown today for a quick look - sure has changed since I was here last (2005).

Good to hear Jules.
We were there in 2012, it had potential then.
Owned by a tug boat Captain, who loves to stick it up the rip off CP operators in town.
And at $180.00 per week, he's doing a good job of it too.
Has the grass grown, when we were there on site 57 (I think) we had the only grass.
But yes, a good park for pet owners, even though Camps 7 indicates no pets.

Hey Jules, we had showers in Norway like that, no curtains and all in one large area, I spent a lot of time in there waiting for the backpackers to have a shower, I came out looking like a prune. I then found out they do not shower every day so I had to spend the next day in the shower, second day was much better.

Ithink with wombat in the shower they probably thought he was a scrubbing brush. Could have washed five at a time.
All those bristles.hahahaha.

Hey - not open to all showers - small room with toilet, shower and basin - just share with a close friend - though wombats are so small they could share with lots of friends!
You guys are incorrigible - now look that word up!!!!!

Hi Bluey - sorry those guys hijacked the post - they are notorious for that behaviour!!!!!!!! And, some grass has grown, but we are on site 3 and there are only a few tufts - but no matter!!!! And the pet friendly was indicated in Wikicamps, which is why we chose it, apart from the price, which is very reasonable anywhere "in the season"!
Welcome to the forum, by the way, I haven't seen you before!

Maybe those Wombat bristles could clean the soles of my feet - if I was an American Indian, they would call me REDFOOT!!!
Would feel nice sitting there with my feet rubbing a wombats back - yeeeeaaaahhhhh!

Loving it over here - Broome, as I said, has grown - with Paspaly shopping centre, has Coles, Best & Less etc, in Chinatown - and a Woolies, Target and 45 specialty stores on the road to Broome, also a Bunnings on the road to the light industrial area, apparently - all in all not a bad little town.
Sitting down at Cable Beach now, going to watch the sunset - hope it's a good one!

We were at Broome's gateway 3 years ago when it was first opened and really liked it, although the ground was all ploughed up at the time. They had a huge dog, who spent his days under our van. Nice people. Enjoy, Jules!
