There you go everyone has different views I thought that that Strahan was a rip off especially the Gordon River boat trip, better scenery on the Hawkesbury River at a much lower cost, Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain was the highlight of our trip, so each of us has different perceptions of the areas we travel.
Can't remember if we had to pay to see Cradle Mountain but we may have used our National Parks pass which we purchased on the ferry going across

Arthur river was a better trip and well worth the drive. Everyone has different opinions but as long as we all enjoy ourselves.

The Big Boat trip into the Wilderness area, sounds great, How long does the cruise take, I think it is something we would love to do when we next cross the Tasman ?

We are going to Tassie for 12 days over Xmas, really looking forward to it but we will only have 13 days and not sure where to start...........

Hi Pauline , it depends what your into , we started at launceston and went down the east coast to hobart etc , beautiful place tassie , we were limited to 10 days , next time we'll chech out the west coast as well

I am Tasmania born, when I go back to Tassie I get to see family & friends. Just love camping in Tassie. I stay 2 mths or more. Love Tassie. Going again next summer when it's not 40deg in Vic.

Hi the wife and me are going tomorrow night on the boat.
We are driving down to Hobart friday morning, staying the night in a motel Salamanca market in the morning, one more night in Hobart then drive across to Bruny Island two more nights there then back up the east coast to the north east wilderness area, then back to the ferry on thursday night .
Just a quick trip because we cannot get enough of this beautiful state.

We spent three wonderful weeks in Tassie last year touring around stopping and looking at the wonderful sights, we loved Derwent Bridge and the Wall of carvings.

I started to go down to Tassie with work almost 20 years ago, attending the best rural show in "Aus"- AGFEST, and fell in love with the place and have been going back for holidays almost every year since then and am booked already to return on the 29th August for 3 months or so, looking forward to it, I was put off for a couple of years after being abused by the owner of the Gowrie Park C/P at the O'Neil park rest area, for being a bludger and parasite on Tasmania for bush camping, hopefully these attitudes to freedom of choice camping has changed a bit by now, hopefully these type of poor business people will lose influence with the councils and be put back in their place to rise or fall on their performance of offering what the market wants and not what they want the market to use.

Fascinating. Went there to watch 3 times. As I said really amazing. Not a lot of room.

I am glad so many of you like my adopted home state.
Just a quick tip for those planning to come over here - travel east when you get off the Spirit if you do not have other plans.
It puts you on the best side of the major roads for better views of the coast and areas like the descent into Queenstown.
That said, if you are a nervous traveler then go around the other way as that will have you on the inside as you go around the various passes.
Well we are back from our 8 days spent driving practicaly all over tassie !! Boy we did
some kilometers and saw some awesome scenery too ,i was a bit peeved. With cradle mtn
sure it was great to see ( no snow) bit cost us over thirty bucks to go in and take a photo
typical rort or the system i call it!! I understand they have upkeep but thirty bucks to pay for a
photo i could of bought a postcard!! Anyway we had a wonderful time my favourtie spot being
strahan we stayed two nights it was that nice! here are just a few photos to show we did enjoy
we did the big boat up to the most wilderness part of tassie as well and its worth every dollar
$174 each fed like a king coffees teas wine beer cheese platter and salmon for lunch with a choice
of salads then more cappachinos or wine or beer if you wanted :)
