Anyone had or suffered this and if so what was your treatment and experience etc.

On a breath test for this recently (still waiting for the results) I had to go off all forms of anti acid meds for a week, including none medical ones.

However, I followed an alkaline diet during this period and it was amazing the difference it made, see my thread on acidic and alkaline food and drink in this section.

Currently I am on Nexium for chronic stomach inflammation, I was treated for the stomach bug once before with antibiotics but it can return.    If you have a partner you should both be checked as it can be passed on by kissing anyone on the mouth, so be to avoid kissing loved ones/grandkids etc on the mouth.

I was tested and found positive many years ago after suffering severe gastritis.
I have had stomach problems since a teenager.
The treatment consisted of three medications for two weeks.
One of the tablets was Flagyl or Faisagin that treats Giardia and was nasty.
The other two wernt too bad.
Probably changed by now though.
Once I was clear , i suffered far less from any stomach problems though I am still on Nexium because of too much acid production.
Well worth the treatment and an Australian Dr received a Nobel Prize for Medicine I think for this discovery when he used himself as a guinea pig to prove his theory.

I had it once before wauri, but my doc told me it can re-occur so had the test again, it was ok this time.

When I had it before I can't recall the meds I had, I know they were a mixture of antibiotics but not sure what.

Still on Nexium (40 mg)...
