We have just purchased a new laptop computer and it is loaded up with the new Windows 8. I am finding it almost impossible to navigate around. Is it just me or are others having problems with the new operating system? Cheers Pete

Have you got insurance or maybe a BIG hammer? Try the classic shell, it turns it back into a Win7 desktop. Free Download. Bill

Pete, I bought a new system running Windows 8.1 in Jan this year, the people I bought it from gave me a quick run through, other than a couple of minor things I've found it all pretty straight forward, everything you need is there, just a few cosmetic changes.

I thought that the latest version of W8 could be easily run as a W7 lookalike without any add on program,

Win 8.1 is to be updated to Win 8.1.1 out soon, in beta at the moment, they may end up calling it Win 8.2

I use windows 8.1 mostly through desktop which shows as one of the 'tiles' when you first enter. It then feels more like Windows 7 and gives you time to get used to it. But I also found I had to turn off the background refreshing data on some of the 'tiles' as it was using up my data allowance very quickly.
