Its a Mustang shaped Celica with 4.0 V8 Lexus motor..
Yes Ive made the manifolds and fitted 80mm turbo..
The inlet is made by myself using supercharged Mustang throttle body.
The internals of motors are forged with lower compression pistons..
Its a dedicated drag car with venerable 2 speed G.M Powerglide..
Aftermarket Ford 9" diff with 40 spline axles..
Std road cars have 25 to 28 spline..
Its no show car. but we have fun doing most the work ourselves..
The engine should make in excess of 1000 h.p at the wheels..
It has 1680cc .. Fuel will be E85.. 85% ethanol..
;
Some $$$ is these heads 32 stainless on piece valves and titainium retainers. Light and strong for 9000 rpm..8500 to be safe.. Almost too nice to be inside engine..
;
40 spline axles.. If one of these break the car would hit the wall big time as the driving wheel pushes car in that direction..

What a great motor, that will scare the other competitors a bit.
Best of luck and enjoy. Ralph.

You say: "It has 1680cc" - I guess that is the injector size? Nice alloy welding job. I am envious!!

Good to see there are other old petrol heads here, my regular driver is a 300hp Liberty/Legacy with V3 97 STI running gear, it's stock apart from breathing mods and good for a high 12 but ultra reliable since I did the conversion 8yrs ago.
I met the guy that developed the Bullet (Miata) with the 4L Lexus motor while he was putting one together here in Perth, he reckoned they were bulletproof up to 1000hp unopened and capable of up to 2000hp with some work, must have been the 7 main bearing crank.
Would you be going for 9's in the Cillyca?

Yea 5 main bearing like any V8 but 6 bolts per main holding mains cap to block. Som strange engineering.. The starter motor is in the engines V under the inlet manifold. So servicing them can be time consuming..
Yes the injectors are 1680cc keep in mind most daily drive cars injector size is 240 cc .
Been a bit slow on this project. I'm tidying up our old bus motorhome for sale..
As you get older the fiddle things are VERY fiddley !!
I have two WRXs , twin turbo Dart block XR8 Falcon and new FG GTE ..
