Water has been heating just fine on gas until 2 days ago. Can't seem to get the flame to ignite.
Have flushed it to make sure water in lines and no air.
Goes fine on 240v. Anyone got any ideas of how to fix it?

Check your 12 volt power supply connections, not sure about yours but mine has
auto switching 240 to 12 volt.. Sounds like power issue, or faulty wire/switch. You can buy a nozzle metal cleaner as well.
Clean the pilot light nozzle as well, check the internal heat tube for any obstructions.
Last time I had a "no start" (turned on the gas) that helped; I tapped the ignitor with a spanner, sprayed on some WD40, and it fixed it maybe it was stuck.
Good luck. Don't take my word for it "Sometimes it works without stuffing it up" (Nothing I can't fix,and replace) Ha hah hah.

Van is a 2012 Jayco Starcraft. Not sure of brand of heater...came fitted! Changed gas bottle recently but have had fridge and oven both working on gas since then. Yes I can hear the igniter trying to light. The reset light initially goes off as it is supposed to, but comes back on (which means it's not working). Try a few times and same thing happens. -- Edited by 2foot6 on Monday 16th of June 2014 09:34:28 AM

Buffy61, I changed a bottle a few months go and had the same problem,I had let the gas drain from the pipe.It took about 50 tries to get it to ignite, but finally worked even though the fridge and stove worked.I wouldn't think the problem would be nozzle as the van is reasonably new.Perhaps try a few more times at igniting the heater to bleed the air out, but leave a few minutes between each try to disperse any gas .Peter.

When you switch it on can you hear the solenoids click in ( it is a light single click sound) you may need to be outside and have someone turn it on.. the fact that the ignition sparks tells me the PC Board has power going to it..
If not then you have a faulty PC board and the Suburban dealers will charge you $300 + for a new board..
I have imported a couple from the states and can sell you one of them for $200 including postage..

hi buffy a wild guess stab in the dark , our gas hottie plays up re lighting when it is windy has it been blowy where you were ,
in tassie our suburban hottie had to replace the solenoid valve , had a gas plumber travelling with us so was lucky then , but a breeze the wrong was will give us toruble some days , needung several goes too light , does what yours does , sometimes a pop bang from gas build up but usually just a no go and then the red light resets
good luck ,
