Graham, I don't know where you live but I don't know of any mainland city in Australia paying $2.10 and higher for their unleaded fuel and $1.52 for diesel is only a little cheaper than what I paid yesterday in Pt Augusta ($1.55). However, the price of diesel is due to rise not because of the avaricious oil companies but because the government is reducing it's tax rebate on diesel.

Hi,
Well what can I say. Yes we are slaves to the ---- oil companies
However these inventions that give 150 MPG and run cars on the fumes etc etc etc are all crap in my humble opinion. I have been working on motors for ever and been reading these claims for almost as long. Never seen any that I think will work. Let,s see someone run their motorhome on the fumes from a bottle for a Km and I will believe it.
Dream on chaps. jaahn

Graham, Your claims are so ridiculous you leave yourself open to ridicule. When it arrived you came back with something even mor nasty. Even if you are using initials you are expressing words that are out of place on this forum.
The base premise is you can not get more out of anything than what is initially in it. You need to release energy to do any work. Even the older motors extracted 25 - 30% of the energy in the fuel used. Later more efficient motors get more return from the used fuel. The much better fuel efficiencies with the modern cars comes from their aerodynamics to a greater extent than their more efficient motors.
As for running your motor on gasoline fumes, they already do this. That is what the carburettor does, converts liquid petroleum to petroleum fumes. Petroleum fumes can be compared to LPG. When you release the gas from the liquid then that gas spreads to a larger volume than the liquid gas. In other words the energy contained in the liquid gas is spread very much further. The same happens with petrol. When it expands to produce fumes (or petrol gas) the energy is spread much further.
There will be so little energy contained in that very little weight of petroleum that that motor would not run without some slight of hand involved. There is nothing new with these slight of hand demonstrations. Some of these con men even fooled the engineers evaluating deveopments for the NSW government. They even went as far ar giving the fuel efficiency development high praise before the con was revealed.
If what you are promoting was feasible then it would be even better than perpetual motion. It would result in the creation of energy. You did set yourself up for ridicule, didn't you.

grae and deb, I had the water bottle on my Valiant in 1981 was about a 4 litre bottle and you put about a 1/3 cup of metho in with the water, was a plastic tube that you drilled a hole in the carby ond put a copper tube then the tube over the copper pipe.
At the time I lived at Iron Knob, upon setting it up I went out on the hi way towards Port Augusta, i had a litre of fuel in a bottle ran it just on petrol till it ran out then marked it with a few rocks where i stopped.
I went back and connected the water injector and ran that distance again, i went app 200 metres further on the water injecting.
Also on the plastic tube was a thin bit of copper tube with small holes so you could adjust the bubbling of the water droplets going into the carby, i did about 6 runs i think the best i got was another 100 metres.

You have had the difference explaned in fuel cost between us & NZ & you still dont get it.
Would you be happy if our government took the 66cents a ltr off at the pump a then charged you a road tax to recover the 66c in an advanced payment???.dont think that would work for you either
As for abusive.you must have a different definition to the rest of us.

Hi all, Just a reminder that we would like to keep our forum a positive place for people to exchange advice and stories. Abusive language and personal attacks have no place here. I am closing this thread down now.
Maybe this might be worth a go to save on fuel using a generator?

But a question here?
Why doesn't the generator run when the tank is empty be fumes in there isn't there?
Maybe the secret is putting air in the jar and bubbling ?
I think its about time we took on these greedy oil companies and Government excerise tax?
