Spot on Wombat, I've been there three times and still find it interesting.
I still can't figure out how some rocks split perfectly in half.
Is it temperature variations affecting expansion & contraction coupled with the pull of gravity or split by a lightning strike?
Yes there's still dingoes around and foot ware still goes missing from outside vans

maybe ask the ranger next time you are there re the rocks splitting
you will not loose footwear if you take your shoes inside at night
