For yrs there has just been a gravell road along the water front with parking as you find it, plenty of it. no camping.
Now the area has been reconstructed with a sealed narrow one way rd, huge walkway wide enough for a traffic lane, tables, toots that were there & very good.
PARKING;; all marked bays with 25 car sections & three medium caravans nose to tail. Get the feeling they dont want us to stop for a cuppa/lunch.
While we were there a small wizzbang; older female parkes smack in the middle of the caravan section. This action does make you wonderwhat their thoughts are at times.

Hi most of that water front and some of the road up from there was washed away in the 2011 cyclone, we are lucky to have that much.

I was there this time last year and they were doing all the area up after the devastation Cyclone Yasi left behind. I thought they would have taken the traveller with a CV in tow into consideration as the local shop owners were suffering badly due to all the work and lack of tourists.
