The crossing looks just the same as it was 20 years ago when I was there.
I love all your pics They bring back good memories and I'm hoping to do the Gibb again soon.
Enjoy El Questro...........I was there when they were starting the build of the main house with the lift going down the cliff face to the water hole at the bottom. The road must be pretty good to take the van. Did it shake things about much? ...Enjoy the rest of ya trip Looking forward to more of your pics.

Thanks all,
Yes, Sarg, I think you would find a lot of changes at El Questro now. The main house is now off limits to all but the $$$+ paying guests, they have a big camping ground, bungalows, cabins, restaurant etc. It is now called El Questro Wilderness Park, and a bit like Dreamworld or SeaWorld on the Gold Coast, You know, pay to get in, then go see all the attractions. Some you pay extra for, some you get to see yourself. We 4WD around some of the tracks, wallowed in Zebede Springs, walked some of the gorges, including Emma Gorge which now also has a resort on it. Paid for a cruise on Chamberlain Gorge. The road in is OK, but compared to the rest of the Gibb, not the same standard, however, they were grading on the morning that we left.
Yes, Wombat, we did it at low tide, left Home Valley early (like before breakfast) and crossed around 7.00 am. Stopped for breakfast at the rest area on the other side. We had heard about some vehicle who did not realise there was a high and low and just ploughed in! There is someone here at the caravan park in Kununurra who is taking his Suzuki jimmini across. We have tried to tell him the river is tidal, but he won't have a bar of it. Could be an interesting video footage "white suzuki floats down Pentecost river"
Kendo, I will find some more piccies for you

As promised, here are some more photos from our Gibb River Road Adventure.
From Home Valley, views of the Coc*burn Range. We were camped beside the Pentecost River
there are croc's in that river.
Sunrise over the Pentecost River.
Studying the Pentecost crossing.
Leaving Home Valley early cos the Pentecost is Tidal (and has big crocs)
About to cross the Pentecost.
