Hi, was hoping to get some tips on the best place to stay at Hervey Bay.
We heard the Point Vernon Park was very nice. We are really looking forward to the whale season and food festival!
Thanks everyone

we stayed at Torquay Beachfront Tourist Park - right on the beach and short walk to shops - shady sites and clean ammeneties. Was 2 yrs ago though - someone might have more up to date info.

We ALWAYS stay at the Harbour View Caravan Park.
Reasonable rates helpful and very pleasant staff.
Very clean amenities.
The toilets are separate from the showers. Nice pool too.
No playgrounds or fancy kids things
We stay in the pet section as we travel with our Co c k er Spaniel

Thanks guys
We have been told that the ones along the esplanade are noisy, so we might try the Big 4 at Point Vernon still. We have heard great things about that CP and we prefer a peaceful environment. Thanks again for your comments
Safe travels

Last trip to Hervey bay we stayed here and really liked it. The manager takes no nonsense so its a good park.
I wrote this review after I stayed there.
Want a nice, quiet park to stay at?
I can recommend the Hervey Bay Caravan Park. This park is located at the end of a no - through road, and is gated making it a very secure park. The park is spread over 7 acres, and has quite a few permanents living there, you wouldn't even know they were there!
The whole park is clean and tidy, is lawned and has plenty of shade trees, a nice BBQ area [free Barbie] a swimming pool, clean amenities block including a laundry with coin operated machines and dryers. Dogs are allowed. For people without their own accommodation, Cabins are available, basic and with en-suite.
The only point I didn't like about the park, was the wifi. They have wifi, but you have to join Nomadnet online which happened to be very expensive, something like $6 for half hour - I didn't bother!
The Park is next door to the Urangan Bowls club, a club that welcomes anybody who wants to play bowls. Meals are said to be good there, or you can catch the Courtesy bus to the Boat Club & RSL Club for a meal. I found it was approx. a 10min walk to a large shopping centre, the beach and take-away shops.
Next to the park were some lovely walks around lakes.
The park is an OZ Park. If your a member of OZ parks, then you receive a 10% discount. It is listed as a 4* park, it lived up to this reputation. We will return!
Hervey Bay is a very popular holiday destination, as it is the gateway to Fraser Island and Whales come here by the hundreds. If you are coming in Whale season or in school holidays, it is best to book accommodation in advance
